FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What encryption is used?
The PDF is encrypted with AES-256, the standard supported by all modern PDF readers.
What happens to my file?
It is processed in ephemeral storage and deleted automatically right after the protected copy is returned. We never keep it.
Why does this tool need a server?
Strong PDF encryption is not something a browser can do reliably, so this step runs on our server engine, then the file is wiped.
